• NSS
    The college has four N.S.S. Units sanctioned by the Vidyasagar University. The units organise different programmes giving the students ample scope for participation in constructive social service activities. The scheme is at present managed by four programme officers and four hundred students.
  • NCC
    The college has two SD coy under 55 Bengal Bn. NCC and SW Pl. 6 Bengal girls`(I) coy. NCC. These units are functioning with a view to afford ample scope to the cadets for development of leadership, character, commandership, spirit of sportsmanship, the ideas of services and to creat a disciplined and trained manpower of society for future.
  • Magazine
    Under the guidance of Principal and the initiative of students’ union printed magazine and wall magazine are published every year. Departmental wall magazine is also published. Some departments publish the student’s journals and Departmental Journals.
  • Cultural Activities
    Every year college arranges a prize giving ceremony followed by social function with all pomp and grandeur. Eminent personalities grace the occasion as honourable guests. Besides, some cultural activities like Nabin Baran, Sikshak Dibas. Rakhi Bandhan and celebration of the days of National Importance etc. are also held during the session. All the functions are organised by the Students’ Union under the guidance of Principal. Some departments arrange cultural programme separately.
  • Athletics

There is sufficient arrangement for outdoor games such Foot Ball,           Cricket, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Hand Ball, Badminton etc. in the college.  The students of the college win some prize from University level competition.

  • Library

Departmental library is available in each department. Some departments have also open book corner. Students of concerned department can use these libraries easily. beside this there is a Central Library for all students. 

  • Hostel

There are three hostels-two for male students and one for female students under control of the college hostel committee. Two hostel superintendents appointed by the college administration to supervise the hostels and maintain the books of accounts.

  • Admission to hostel: The students seeking admission to hostel for a particular session are required to apply in the prescribed form to the superintendent. The seats allotted to the students are notified and the students are required to pay the fees and charges at the time of admission.
    • Charges: Establishment charge including electric, seat rent, cook etc. should be deposited by the student at the time of admission. Messing charge should be deposited by the student in every month as required.
    • Discipline:
    1. Attendance compulsory for both the morning and evening prayer.
    2. Strict discipline is to be maintained during the study hours.
    3. Students must observe the study hours prescribed by the authority.
    4. Use of common room is strictly prohibited during the study hours.
    5. Lunch and dinner time is strictly maintained by the students as per the prescribed schedule of the authorities.
    6. The boarders of the room concerned are to purchase the bulb, etc.at their own expenses. The authority will make arrangement to their effect only the very beginning of the new session for once.
    7. No guest will allow to stay overnight in the hostel.
    8. No boarders are allowed to stay during the vacations like Summer, Puja, X-mas etc
  • Common Room

There are two separate common rooms, one for male students and other for female students. Students are provided newspapers, magazines, different indoor game facilities like carom, table tennis etc.

  • Vidyasagar Path Parishad

With a view to fostering a sense of culture in the locality, Vidyasagar Path Parishad being established in the year 1970, 150 Birth Anniversary of Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar, organises several competitions every year among its members from neighbouring educational and cultural institutions including mother institution. The Parishad organises meeting, seminar, yoga camp, career counselling programme etc. which are addressed by the eminent guest.

    There is a well-equipped and well decorated computer laboratory         with internet facilities. Department of Mathematics, Commerce, Economics, Physics, Chemistry use it as a departmental laboratory by sharing as well as all students can use it as required.

    Internet connection are available in the departments including the college office. The college will be a Wi Fi campus very shortly.


Two beautiful gardens are situated in front of the two main buildings of the college. The gardens are maintained jointly by a professional gardener and the NSS units of our Mahavidyalaya. The specialties of the gardens are that they grow seasonal flowers as well as the plants needed for the academic interest of the department of Botany. The gardens provide a scenic beauty to the college.


A 0.75 acre pond is situated on the premises of the Mahavidyalaya. Rain water is conserved by college pond. This pond gives much priority to water conservation and water sports. At present pond water management is planned for gardening, fisheries and to preserve ecosystem. This pond water is used for irrigation during dry periods. This pond provides a scenic beauty to the college.

Cycle Stand

A well protected 3000.sqft cycle stand is situated within the college campus. A whole time security guard is engaged to maintain the overall protection of the cycles of both staff and student and overall stake-holder of the college.


An Auditorium within the college premises is available for arrangement of meeting, seminars, conference, and cultural program.

Employees Cooperative Credit Society

To achieve their financial and emergency needs, the employees of the Mahavidyalaya formed an Employees Credit Society on the college. The society always ready to forwarding its hands for the employees to overcoming the different types crisis which ultimately helps to obtained the overall objectives of our institution.

Central computer centre

College has arranged a well decorated centralized computer centre for the fulfillment of the needs relating to the modern technological aspect on the ground of education, research, and innovation on the universal academic area.
