About The Department:

The Department of Physical Education is the part of faculty of Arts and started its academic journey in the Year 2001 as an inter-disciplinary subject involving the study of Sports Physiology and Anatomy, Bio-mechanics, Human Psychology and Social Sciences. Field and Lab practical classes are performed in spacious and well-equipped manner. Our Departmental community consists of dedicated one full-time and one SACT faculty members and over 350 undergraduate students make the environment conducive and hold our Department together. The Department of Physical Education is committed to the promotion of Health oriented and Competition oriented Activity and Sports for the overall development of the student community. The Department has encourage students in participating in inter collegiate and other major sports activities at university level and state level. The Department has also rich experience of organizing District Level inter-college Sports activities. The Department offers facilities for sports activities like Athletics, Football, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Volleyball and a Fitness centre. The students have brought laurel memorable moments by excelling in different sport and game events to the college. The Department place on record the disciplined, dedicated and determined effort of all the students for keeping the college flag flying.

Our vision: To educate students psychomotorically as they make contributions to the profession, communities and the society as well as make themselves physically fit , mentally stimulating and satisfying and socially well adjusted fit citizen.

Our Mission: To maintain a Department that is regarded as equal to any in terms of relevancy with learning opportunities by quality of support and facilities and the working experience.

Teaching Method: It includes Classroom, Field and Laboratory practical teaching with audio visual interaction and project work. An individual and group interaction with the teaching staff outside of the teaching hour is also available.

 

Method of Evaluation: The Department follows the continuous system for evaluation of the students through Internal Assessment and University Examination.
