• 04.02.2023: The NAAC PEER TEAM Visited our institution for reaccreditation (2nd Cycle) and it was  completed on 04.02.2023.  We are overwhelmed and proud to have Professor (Dr.) Manikrao Salunkhe, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Bharati Vidyapeeth, (Deemed To Be University), Pune, Maharashtra – as a CHAIRMAN of the NAAC PEER TEAM,  Dr. Niranjan Roy, Professor, Assam University, Silchar, Assam as Member Secretary of the PEER TEAM and  Dr. Ram Mohan Tripathi, Principal, Government First Grade College, Ferozepur, Punjab as Members of the PEER TEAM. We would like to convey our sincere gratitude and thanks to all the Members of the GB, IQAC, and NAAC Steering Committee, Coordinators of IQAC; Secretary Teachers’ Council, Conveners of the NAAC Steering Committee, Members, All the HoDs of the UG & PG and its Coordinators, Alumni Association and all ex-students, Parents, Respected District magistrate Mrs. Ayesha Rani A IAS, Paschim Medinipur, Mr. Tuhinsubhra Mohanty, BDO, Sabang,  and Dr. Subhas Kandar, BMOH Sabang; All Associate professors and Assistant Professors, all SACT (I & II), NCC Cadets, Coordinators and Programme Officers of NSS and its volunteers, Head Clerk,  Accountant, Cashier, including all Office Staffs, Alumni, Parents and Students Representative along with all Students, Contractual Supporting Staff and Security personals for their consistent involvement and to finish the schedule allotted tasks in a perfect and efficient manner. Above all I convey my heartfelt gratitude and Honour to our President of the Governing Body Dr. Manas Ranjan Bhunia, Hon’ble Minister in Charge, Water resource Investigation and Development Department and  Environment, Govt. of West Bengal for his continuous encouragement and support in every sphere toward gaining it excellency in term of Academic, Infrastructure and Governance in a consistent manner.

  • 11.08.2022: Our preparation for the Re-accreditation of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council of India for the 2nd Cycle (2022) is on the way. We are quite hopeful and ambitious about our excellence both in academics, Infrastructure and the Management System. It is surprising to us that within a few years we have changed a lot of its phases in all aspects. From this year several checkpoints, as well as new technology, were introduced in continuation with the modern advancement of Educational Technology within the Class Room Teaching and Learning based on ICT.  The first one is the installation of the Touch Panel Board in the Virtual Classroom which was full of Electronic Gazettes. The institution already introduced a Research Centre of Humanities and Social Sciences from the Academic Session 2021-2022. Special Coaching was already introduced for the NET & SET Examination a few months ago. From the beginning of this academic session Coaching for UPSC Examination specially IAS and IPS will be commenced with the help of the District Administration Officers. In general best lectures at classrooms teaching will also be available from our web-repository source very shortly. Not only classroom, lectures will be available at the palmtop of the students. We are trying to provide all scope and facilities to our bona fide students at our best possible ways. – Principal

  • 16.04.2022: Our institution enters into a new phase of development both upgradation in infrastructure and in academics. Several Projects are running under the financial help of the Government of West Bengal and Govt. of India simultaneously. The office is running through a semi-automatics e-governance system with the help of GOOGLE WORKSPACE with Teaching & Learning upgrades along with our own Office Management Software. The Library become fully automated, Laboratory become upgraded in several departments, Language Laboratory was in a functional state. The Conference Hall, Meeting Hall, and Vidyasagar auditorium with full of new electronic gazettes. The Museum Hall is on the verge of completion. Most of the classrooms were converted into Smart Classrooms. The Governing Body recently approved to introduce of four UG Honours (Computer Sc., BCA, Music and Physiology)) and two PG Subjects (Education & Zoology) from coming academic session. The best of the best is to introduction of Research Centre of Humanities and Social Sciences.   • 05.05.2021: The time is worse for the education system due to 2nd outbreak of SARS COVID-2. Most of the Face-to-Face teaching & learning system is stopped due to the extension of lockdown to combat the situation but alternatively our online classes (at the Real time online Class Time-Table at JOIN ONLINE CLASS) and other activities is still running amidst such a critical situation. But it is our realization that there is a severe crisis of text books and reference books due to limited and restricted accessibility of the Central Library of the Mahavidyalaya. Henceforth, we decided to convert most of the hard copy of the most accessed Book into the digital form for the hands on easy access to our students through online mode. In addition to that we have decided to purchase more E-Book in this year to facilitate this service. Students and faculty members can assessed, read and view these complete books even from their Mobile phone or Laptop/desktop. Students may find millions of free E-Books from various other weblink (E-Resource) provided in our Library website. – Principal

  • 15.07.2020: In this hard situation amid outbreak of SARS COVID-19 Pandemic, face to face Teaching-Learning system will be interrupted and may be postponed as directed by the Government of West Bengal till the betterment of situation. Meanwhile, we desired in our meeting on 15.07.2020 that it cannot be stopped for unlimited time and the alternatives must be explored as we learned from the ongoing event. For the incoming academic session we now prepared to change our phase as “Study at the Classroom” to “Study from Home“. In this system students will able to learn every thing from their home and for this we are activated the “Real-time Classroom Teaching” facility through “Online mode“. For this students can entered into the specific class room and interact with the teacher as per “Published Time Table” (will be available from our Website at the “Students Corner”  as well as from each departmental routine section. By clicking students can joined in the Real-time Classroom of specific subject. Teacher will be there and students can interact with them and on demand, documents should be interchanged among themselves. This system will be in addition to the Google Classroom System. – Principal 

  • 01.04.2020: Due to outbreak of Corona Virus (COVID-19) it is difficult to conduct the classes on regular basis.  Alternatively we have developed the cloud based “Google classroom” which lets our teachers share their Class Notes, Handouts/ Documents, PPTs, PDFs, Videos and Live streaming of classes directly to the students mobile phones with single click. Simultaneously students are hereby instructed to open the college website www.sabangcollege.ac.in, go to the Home page and click on the e-Learning  under Academics Drop down Menu. It will open a list of Class Codes. Please select and enter the specific class code(s) as per your subject and class. It is require when you are asked to join the Class as Student in the Google Classroom environment. Please note that Student must have to download and installed the “Google Classroomapplication software in their mobile Phone. It is absolutely FREE of cost and easily may download from Play Store.   • 14.03.2020: Meeting of the Staff Council of Sabang College was held on 14.03.2020 to review on ongoing Academic activities and Standards with allied issues. Dr. Manas Ranjan Bhunia, The President of the GB and Hon’ble M.P. Rajyasabha Chaired the meeting. Teachers were shared their opinion towards standardisation of academic activities. In this meeting utmost priority was given to the betterment of education and academic activities of the college.

Students may find their respective Class Routine (Time Table of the Class)  at their respective Department under the Academic domain of the Home Page of our Website. They are also informed to keep contact with the Head of the Department regarding any queries.

  • 07/01/2020: Responsibility of each  subcommittees were handed over to the respective Convenor of the Sub-Committees on 01/01/2020. To coordinate on all over programme and its details plans and programme regarding some important issues of ensuing Inauguration Programme (dated 25/01/2020) will be fixed in the extended meeting along with Members of all Sub-Committees of the Golden Jubilee Celebration will be held in the Virtual Class Room on 07/01/2020 at 1.30 Noon.  All members are cordially invited.

  • 24/12/2019: A Condolence Meeting was held today for sudden demise of Sri. Dulal Chandra De, Honourable Member of the  Governing Body (Government Nominee) at the Auditorium Hall of the Mahavidyalaya. We all deeply mournful on the very sad incidence. Our College flag will remain half-mast for three days on the honour of Late Dulal Chandra De.
