About the Department
The Department of Philosophy has been providing the students cultural, social and religious heritage of Indian civilization to humanize and enrich the modern notion of progress and to enable it to promote Indian, cultural and philosopical identity. This department started in 1971-1972 session with only B.A. General Course under Vidyasagar University. It is one of the oldest and prestigious department of this institution. The department has been upgraded from pass graduate to a honours graduate in the session 1991-1992. The academic condition in terms of the quality of learning process is adequate.
